  • Day 5 of Give Thanks

Considering today is Election Day and all …I thought it’d be appropriate to be thankful for living in a country where I’m allowed to at least have a small say as to who does or does not get voted into the offices that make up our government.

    I must ask though…

am I the only one who is just sick-to-death of the stupid campaigning commercials?

    I mean…good God…give it a rest already will ya!!

    Okay…I feel better now.

    Go Vote!!!

  • Day 4 of Give Thanks

Thank y’all again for the nice comments…oh, and MyKi…I DO self medicate. …sometimes I just don’t have a choice in the matter…ya know?

Anyway, for Day 4…I’d like to say that I’m EXTREMELY thankful that Jason and I went to Michigan for our vacation last month!!

I’m thankful for that vacation for many reasons…

(See Vacation posts Part I & Part II)

    1.       I got to spend time away from the 4 children mentioned in the previous post.

    2.      I got to spend some time ALONE with the one I love!!

    3.   I got to go home for a few days during my favorite season of the year.

    4.     I got to see my Grandpa one last time before he died.

Soooooo…since I’ve been promising pics of our vacation for quite some time now…I thought that I’d post a few.  I’m sorry that some of them are so dark, but that’s just what the weather was like up there and I need a better camera.

I hope that y’all enjoy them!!

  • Day 3 of Give Thanks

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my little ones!   Very sweet!!

After stating my thankfulness for my 4 children on Day 2…I’d like to say that for Day 3, at this moment…I’m VERY thankful that I don’t have 5 children!!!

For all of you parents out there…I know that y’all have had those days where your children just drive you to the point where you look like…well, this !!

That would be me today!! Poor Jason…he’s had to totally put up with me today. (thank you honey…I love you and I’m SO sorry that you’ve had to deal with me…and the kids…you are too good to me!!  )

Humor me for just a moment okay…  (just going to take a moment and feel sorry for myself…then I’ll be done with it…I promise).

It’s just been one of those days when my abdomen has been hurting fairly bad and the kids have chosen today not to listen ….at ALL!   Why, I ask, is it that when I’m not doing well…they decide it’s a good time to misbehave?  I just don’t understand that one.  It’s like they have a six sense on this sort of thing…not in a good way either.  Is it that they think that because I’m not myself that they will be able to get away with doing things that they know they shouldn’t be?  Hmm…I just wasn’t THAT type of a child…so I just don’t get it.

As if not having them listen or behave themselves …and of course myself being in pain…wasn’t enough, I messed up dinner as well!   I’ve never messed up a dinner before…in fact, I’ve been told that I’m a wonderful cook.  So, tonight when I burned the mashed potatoes…(because the boys broke a piece on the pressure cooker) it was well…depressing to say the least…especially after having dealt with the demon children (I KNOW they look like little …but they mostly look like this  …which of course makes me look like…!)  Not a good look for me btw!

Okay…I think that I’m done ranting now…no really, I am.

So…please share with me any advice you may have or your experiences with children in this type of situation…I’d REALLY like to know!

  • Day 2 of Give Thanks

Hmm…well, I actually DO still have some readers!! Wow!!   Thanks y’all!!

Okay…for Day 2 I would like to state that I am extremely thankful for my 4 beautiful children!!

Tell me…do you see the resemblance between myself…

    and…my little ones?

  • I know that there are still several weeks until Turkey Day…but, I have a GOOD reason for having all of the decor up already.

(there is logic to my madness…trust me )

I’ve decided that since Thanksgiving is the day that we are all supposed to reflect and give thanks for all of the things that we are blessed with in our lives…that since all I’ve gone through lately in my life…that I should probably start giving thanks now…like on a daily basis!!  So…here it goes…

    Day 1 of Giving Thanks

I’m thankful to God for blessing my life with this man right here…

My life is forever changed because of you…(yes, for the better).  I love you honey!

    So…what are YOU thankful for..hmm?
