  • Wrestling & Strawberry Ice Cream

Yup…that’s pretty much what my night consisted of…Impressed are ya? LOL

When I got home last night…I went straight to my bedroom to check out all of the channels that I can now view again on my T.V.!!  I get the travel channel again…WOOHOO!! LOL  I know…I’m strange but hey…I’m ME!

I sat and watched the health channel for a little while…you know, the one with “Trauma: Life in the ER”?  It’s SO cool!! Once again…I’m sure y’all think that I’m odd…but this is a girl that used to read medical journals for fun as a kid!  I’ve always been totally enthralled with medical procedures and surgery…and that really cool stuff that most people think is totally disgusting! Yup…that’s me!

Anyway…I really don’t have a point to my blog today, except that I found out last night that Toby (my kitten) LOVES strawberry ice cream! hehe

Now…don’t you just feel much better knowing that? LOL

Okay…back to work for me!  Have a great day y’all!!

    ~Maria

P.S. ~ one last thing…I got an email from an old friend of mine today…we haven’t seen each other in about 10yrs or so…it was SO cool to hear from him!! Thanks for writing me mister!!

  • I reached my goal!!

I know…it wasn’t a MAJOR goal or anything…but hey, by tonight I should have ALL of my channels back up and viewable again!! YAY!!  I can watch my hockey…Jason can watch his wrestling…life will be as it should be again!  (wouldn’t it be great if that’s all it took?)

Wasn’t feeling too well yesterday at ALL! So Jason kept me in bed most of the day and declared it “Mom’s day off”.  He is so sweet!  He made me breakfast and lunch…and stayed with me most of the day, while attempting to get some work done on the computer and watch the boys.  Who says men can’t multitask eh?

    Question for you…

So…have any of you watched “Joe Millionaire”?  If so, what are your thoughts on this shows concept?

I think that it’s kind of interesting…but in a way it just shows how greedy people can be.  THAT really bothers me.  I’m not a greedy person…material items are NOT the important things in life.  In a way…well, the way that it was put across by the producers of the show, Evan (the star) is supposedly trying to find a women who is NOT greedy…by doing away with those who clearly are.  I’m curious to see how this is going to work exactly…but I do know one thing, when you get a bunch of women that are eager for a man with money, competing for only ONE man…it’s going to get REALLY ugly…REALLY fast!

    Have a great Monday!!

    ~Maria

  • YAY…it’s Friday!!!!

‘Tis a good thing…because I’ve about had enough of paperwork for one week!!  See…this is what happens when I get a few days off…the paperwork just stacks up on my desk and then I’m still doing it 2 weeks later! Yup…the aftermath of vacation days….haha.  Oh well, it’s all just part of life I suppose.

No worries…the weekend is almost here…and there is football to watch! hehe

    Side note…

For those of you who read Jason’s site…but haven’t been there lately, just an FYI…he has promised a long post for this Sunday…so look for that. (shameless plug I know…the things I DO for him…haha)

Do any of you have DirecTV?

I do…mainly because my exhusband works for them and I got the dish for free and installation (that’s the bonus for being an employee) plus most of the channels for free.  BUT…(don’t ya just love that work…haha), we haven’t been able to view MOST of the channels for MONTHS now and this includes some of the Center Ice (NHL Hockey Package that I paid well over $100 for) channels…which is just not only depressing…but frustrating.  Of course when I first brought this up to my ex he said he’d take care of it because employees don’t go through the same people that normal customers do for issues like this (uh huh)…but nothing came of that.  So…now it’s time to take matters into my own hands…so I called them this morning and explained to them what is going on and I was informed that I’ll have to call back once I’m home and am able to perform some troubleshooting with the receiver and what-have-you.  Not a problem…but it better work ‘cuz I’ve been missing hockey for months now…AND Jason hasn’t been able to watch WWE RAW since September…so he’s about run out of patience as well. (hey…he’s a southerner…wrestling is way importanté ya know!  just kidding!!)

Okay…that was my rant for today! Thanks for sticking with me (that is if you’ve read this far…haha).

My point was that I have a goal this weekend to get my dish fixed…one way or another! I’m determined to be able to watch my programs (I miss the travel channel…and VHI countdowns…and the History channel…and…oh…sorry, I said I was done didn’t I? oops).

Have a wonderful weekend y’all…and don’t forget, Jason will be posting on Sunday!

  • Well…I DID get SOME sleep last night! YAY for me!!

Although, I had taken a Benadryl tablet to help me sleep and when my alarm went off this morning…I could barely keep my eyes open!  It was like a anihistemine hangover! Ugh…but at least I got some sleep eh?

Caleb still crawled into bed with Jason and I last night though. I awoke at around 3 or so this morning only to find Caleb asleep at the foot of the bed. Awe…poor baby.  So I picked him up and put him in between Jason and I so that he could get under the covers and sleep on the pillow.  Well, that just wouldn’t due for him…uh uh…nope!  He took my throw blanket and crawled OVER Jason and laid on his pillow and snuggled up beside him.  (very cute to see)  He just loves him so much!! (that feeling goes for Jason towards him as well)

So…there they were, all cozy in bed and I had to get up and go to work. (Jason goes in a couple hours after I do…so he can sleep a little bit later than I)  I should’ve taken a picture…but I didn’t want to wake them up.  Sorry.

Thank y’all for your wonderful and supportive comments…I knew that you’d understand!!  YOU always do!!  Y’all are the greatest!!

    Now for something funny!!!

I must share this with all of you…it made Jason and I just crack up when we saw it and I think y’all will too!!

Last night during dinner, Caleb wasn’t very hungry and wanted to get down from his chair…so we let him.  Well, he spent the rest of dinner time chasing poor Rusty (our golden retriever) around the kitchen…attempting to RIDE him like a pony!!

So…we just HAD TO take some pics to show y’all…hehe!!

Here’s Caleb getting ready to “mount” the poor dog!

Just as soon as Caleb would sit on Rusty’s back…Rusty would sit down! Smart dog eh?

Of course then Caleb would proceed to try and get Rusty to stand back up again…but to no avail!!

Had to share that…we just thought it was hysterical!!  Although I don’t think that Rusty found it to be too humorous…poor baby.

Well…I guess that’s it for me today.  I have TONS of work to so I suppose that I shall try to get back to doing it! (notice I said TRY…hehe)

    Have a great day y’all!!

    ~Maria

  • Very tired…

Caleb kept me up most of the night…

    Need sleep…

    Very tired…

  • The Misadventures of Toby

I think that I’m going to rename Toby…

…change his name to “Toby the Explorer”!!

The past few days he’s gotten it into his head that he would like to venture outside…despite my protests.  The kids haven’t exactly made it difficult for him to do so either…(they’ve let him out about 3 times now…naughty children).

I keep telling him that the outside world just isn’t THAT interesting…but then again, I’m trying to explain this to a feline who thinks the garage is a wonderous place to explore.  Why do I bother eh?

    Aawwwee

Thanks to ALL of you for your lovely and touching comments regarding the picture of my sweety and I.  Y’all are just too much!

We did have a wonderful time on NYE…but I must admit that I’m looking forward to what this year has in store for us.

    Upcoming Event

Next week I’m taking Jason to his first NHL game!!  I’m excited!!  Mainly because I haven’t been to a hockey game yet this season…AND it’s the Red Wings vs Avalanche game (my two favorite teams…I know, they’re rivals…but hey, I have loyalties ya know…haha) which is ALWAYS an entertaining (if anything) type of game…AND we have incredible seats (14th row…hehe)…AND just the fact that I get to take the one I love to his first live NHL game is thrilling in itself!!

I don’t discuss hockey much here at all…so y’all are just going to have to endulge me for a moment okay?

I even talked my ex-husband into taking the kids for us the night of the game.  Yay for me!

It should be a fun night…I’ll report back after the game to let y’all know how it went.

    This & That

Not too much going on with us right now…other than Jason is having to work a LOT of hours this week and only gets one day off after working 6 in a row.  So he has a very good reason as to why he hasn’t posted yet…sorry y’all…but you’ll just have to wait a little bit longer for his post on “THE Christmas gift” that I bought him.

I know that he wishes he had more time to post and visit…but he’s been tired and to be honest…I’ve been pretty exhausted recently as well.  However, I think that we may get some reprieve now that the kids started back at school!!  YAY for THAT!

Hopefully things will get back to semi-normal soon.  Well…as normal as they can be when you have four children running your life!!

Have a wonderful week everyone…and I’ll try to visit y’all in the next couple of days!!

    ~Maria

  • I’ve been a BAD Xangan!!!

I’m sorry y’all…I haven’t had time the past few days to visit hardly any of your sites at ALL!!  The kids have been keeping me quite busy and my normal routine is REALLY out whack right now!!

So please accept my apology for my lack of visiting/commenting/and epropping!

I see however, that y’all liked the pics of Toby!!  He is a cute little bugger isn’t he!  Although he isn’t very helpful when attempting to make a bed!!

Well, I said that I would tell of the New Year’s Eve events so…let’s move on shall we?

Jason and I had a few changes in our plans…but we had a wonderful night.  Of course Jason wouldn’t let us even get out of the house without taking a photo (I’m better when behind the camera instead of in front of it btw…haha)….but if I didn’t pose, I’m afraid that we’d have never gone out!

So here it is…not as bad as I thought it would be…haha.  In all seriousness, it turned out quite well I think!

We decided to go out to Red Lobster for dinner and both ordered the all you can eat shrimp!! YUMMY!!!

After dinner we went over to a local sports bar/grill and decided it was best to stay there and party instead of heading downtown where everyone else who doesn’t normally get out much had already decided to go.  Besides, the clubs downtown were all charging some ridiculous rate like $30per person for a cover charge and this bar had no cover charge and half off drinks until midnight!!

So…I drank some Mai Tais’s and Jason got his Long Island Iced Tea…and we were pretty darn content sitting listening to the music and watching sports highlights on a majorly HUGE screen!

They passed out party hats, noise makers and such a few minutes before midnight along with a champaigne toast.  That was very cool and quite festive.

At midnight, Jason and I toasted to him saying, “to 2003…OUR year”.  Then we kissed…a LOT! hehe

There was this one guy that was quite the entertaining one for the night.  He was wearing cowboy boots and wranglers and got up on the bar and danced to some techno music…it was quite humurous and interesting to say the least.

He also decided that Jason and I needed to go dance…so after midnight and about 4 drinks and a shot of tequilla later…we were on the dance floor having a wonderful time.  I drank WAY too much…but Jason thinks I’m hilarious when I’ve been drinking (he’s strange).

We played some air hockey and I got my butt kicked 3 out of 4 games by him…and of course I keep telling him that if I’d have been sober those wins wouldn’t have come so easily.  He doesn’t believe me though…so for now I’m letting him boost his own ego…but he’ll learn soon enough.

All in all…it was a very fun and wonderful night!!  We agreed that we haven’t had that much fun since we were in Mackinac…so, it most definitely went well.

So…what did YOU do for New Year’s Eve???

Have a great weekend y’all!!!  I’ll TRY to get to your sites soon!!

    ~MaRiA

  • Happy 2003!!!!!

Now…without further adue, I give you Toby!!!

    Isn’t he just too cute?!

I’ll tell about the New Year’s Eve events later…but for right now…I have to finish doing laundry.  Gotta love having days off right?
