  • From Good…to Bad

Saturday was fun…but yesterday left something to be desired. Unfortunately I was in bed all day yesterday with some sort of stomach virus.  It started late Saturday night and lasted all day yesterday.  Not exactly feeling back to normal today, but better than I did at least.

Anyway, my girls still spent the day with me…and even my Mom, as we watched movies in my bedroom most of the day.  I didn’t eat much of anything all day yesterday…not a recommended diet plan btw.

I’ll go home tonight…do some laundry…and then start packing for the trip that’s just 4 days away.    I can’t wait!! I should be feeling much better by then.

I hope that all you Mommys had a wonderful Mother’s Day!!

  • I hope you feel better. Im sorry your Mother’s day wasnt so good.

  • At least it was this weekend that you were not well and not when you are away

  • I’m really sorry about the stomach virus but it sounds like your Mother’s day was still good!  I’m sure you’ll be better in a couple of days but try not to overdo it or you may have a relapse!

  • I’m sorry your Mother’s Day wasn’t the best..feel better!!

  • aww. sounds like it was a great day anyway. sometimes the best are the worst. lol. you get my point.

  • Awww thast not a fun mothers day, I’ms orry

  • Hi! My name’s Amanda, just turned 16 in April and I stumbled upon your site today and I really enjoyed reading your previous entries about your son. Wow, I must sound very stalkerish ;) but I live in Singapore.. so I doubt that’s possible. Anyway, the point is, I can totally relate to what your family’s going through, my 13 year old sister Samantha has Autism as well.
When I read about how you had to fight for your son to get proper treatment, it reminded me so much of my parents. Sammy wasn’t diagnosed with austism till about 3 or 4 and it has been one life-long battle. Although some people may think that 3/4 is an early age… it can quite possibly be too late. You see, she still functions with the same “intellegence” as a 5 year old though her body is developping at a normal rate.  Caleb sounds like such an amazing child, however I understand how hard it can be at times… you can feel so alone sometimes because noone really understands.

I’ve been working with families with children with autism since i can remember, volounteering at schools and such, but the best thing I’ve seen so far is where I work now, Riding for the Disabled. Using horseback riding as physical and mental therapy for people of all ages with several disabilities including Autism and Down’s. I know that my hometown in Canada has a centre like this and I think it’d be something cool to consider for Caleb when he’s perhaps older? Or even now!

Okay, that was my random comment, I just wanted to share my experiences with someone who’d most likely understand :)
