  • First off, thank you all so much for your wonderful supporting comments.  I appreciate it more than I am able to express.  Even though I’m a bit upset about this whole situation, I’m trying to look at the bright side…I still have a job and I have plenty of time to look for another company to go to.

Second, after only one day of having my rèsumè posted on Monster, I’ve already had it viewed and have found at least 3 positions that I may be interested in.  One is in Pennsylvania…one in Atlanta (which Jason would like, but I don’t think they’d pay enough) and the other is in Mesquite, TX.  The one in Texas would be almost perfect for me and they are offering $35 k to $45k based on experience.  They are only expecting someone with 2-5 years of experience, and I have 7…so I think it wouldn’t be difficult to get into that one at all.

The one in PA, on the other hand, I am qualified for except for they want someone with knowledge of MSHA (Mining Safety & Health Administration) regulations and I’m not as familiar with that as I am with OSHA & DOT.  So, I’ll have to think about that one…plus they didn’t state what they’d offer for salary.

Well…it seems that I have quite a few choices and at this point, considering I won’t be leaving my current company until I’ve found another position, I’ve got some time to peruse these options a bit.  I’m not going to be hasty about picking another postition.  I want to make sure that it’s really what I want and that it would be fiesable to move my family if necessary.  Considering I have little ones and one is autistic, I need to be very careful as to where I’d move them to make sure that their needs are met.  Not to mention, I want to also make sure that it’s a location that Jason wouldn’t mind relocating to.

I’ve looked locally, and will continue to do so, but I don’t believe there is much available in my field of expertise here.  So, I’ve got a great deal to think about and positions to search through and I will most likely take my time doing so.  I look at it this way though, at least I’ll still be getting paid while I’m weighing my options.

Anyway, I hope that you have a wonderful weekend and thanks again for all of your support!! I have just my Caleb this weekend, so this should be some relaxing time for him…and he enjoys time alone with mommy (almost as much I enjoy time with him).

    Have a great weekend!

  • Sounds very reasonable to me

  • well, lets hope that whatever you want, you get! relocating is a big adjustment for kids….and lets face it, for some adults as well. ughhh

    good luck enjoy the weekend.

  • You’re in a very good position for job hunting..you still have a job and you can be picky! Have a wonderful weekend with Caleb!

  • Ok I may have to go back and read your last blog.  I missed it.  What is your field of expertise?  My husband works at a Phelps Dodge Mine here in Az.  He knows all about Msha and its rules and such.  If you need to learn a lot about it quick hit my email me link, and give me your phone number and you can ask my hubby to tell you all he knows about it or maybe he can pick up there rules and regs at work so you could study it. lol  That would make you more knowledgable if that is the route you choose.  As for my friend and her chihuahuas, she has also asked what they go for there,  her price range depends on male or female, teacup or not longhair or not and whether or not you wanted a blue or a chocolate but her prices start at $250, and I have seen her sell them for as high as $700.  Now mind you that $700 was the rare blue and also a teacup and she virtually had people bidding against each other to get it.  It was her intention to keep him and name him wrangler. lol Because he was a blue and he came from blue genes lol.  But when they got so high and she needed the money so bad. . . she sold it.  Ok now that I have written my own blog here lol,  I will bow out.   Have a great day and a  wonderful tomorrow ! ! ! ! !  Much love and many hugs ! ! !   Thanks for your wonderfully sweet comments.  Sleep with the angels and wake up fully rested and ready for a new day ! ! !

  • You have a good weekend too Maria. It sounds like you’ll have no trouble at all finding a better job!

  • Do you want to move ? if you do it sounds like there are lots of jobs out there for you

  • Have a good weekend Luv

  • Well I hope that the one you want most is in the place you want most – with lots of money!!

  • Will your company make any counter offers, or do they know you’re looking?

  • I wish you all the best in this decision.. I know it isnt easy and I think it sucks that your company is so mean… people don’t pay to keep good employees anymore… that is too bad….

but could be good for you in the long run….

    good luck!

    Tina

  • Yep, you are wise, take whatever time you need, because this will be an important decision. At least the offers are starting to come in. On the surface, it would appear that the Texan position is the most favourable so far. But as you say, family considerations need to come into play, too.

I think your current company is going to regret losing you, when the time comes. Best wishes to you!

  • Sounds as if Jason will support you, no matter where you choose. That is great!

Hope all works out for you in the job front!

  • Hi! Good luck with your job hunting. I wish you well in that area. Family certainly comes first, but a good paying job would be nice!

You’ll be in my prayers as you continue your search and make your final decision.

Have a great week. God bless.

  • I do hope we head east… I want to make a decent living as well which pretty much means– not in Colorado. We’ll get there my love

  • Here is where my heart is in two!! I want the best for you and Jason and all the kiddos and cute animals, but… I don’t want you guys to leave Colorado
